Hon. Cynthia L. Martin (chair) has served on the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District, since 2009. Prior to her appointment to the bench, she was in private practice as a business and commercial trial lawyer for 25 years, during the last 10 of which she was a solo practitioner. She served as co-chair of the Legal Education and Admission to the Bar subcommittee for the Missouri Bar/Missouri Supreme Court Task Force on the Future of the Legal Profession in 2015–2016. From August 2014 to August 2016, she served as chair of the Bar Admissions Committee for the American Bar Association’s Section on Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar; since August 2016, she has served as a member of the Accreditation Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section on Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar. Judge Martin was a member of the Missouri Board of Law Examiners from 2001 to 2011 and has served on the Board of Trustees of the National Conference of Bar Examiners since 2011. From January 2018 through January 2021, Judge Martin served as chair of NCBE’s Testing Task Force. She received a BA from William Jewell College and her JD from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law.
